Johnny Charles Brewer of 233 Carolina Avenue, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center following an extended illness. Born in Greenville on February 3, 1943, Johnny was the son of Imogene Brewer of Simpsonville and the late Ralph Brewer. Mr. Brewer was a Greenville High Graduate, a Vietnam veteran, retired from Air Products, Inc., and an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the VFW Post 9273 of Piedmont and the Sportsman Club. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a son, Mark Brewer Brandy of Boiling Springs; his loving and loyal caregiver, Teresa Pruitt Gosnell Todd of Greenville; six grandchildren, Jarred Brewer, Amanda Hendricks, Jessica Brewer, Hayden Brewer, Misty Pruitt, Cameron Gosnell; four great grandchildren; a sister, Donna Arnold Heyward of Simpsonville; many other extended family members and his beloved dog, Blackie. Memorials may be made to the Greenville County Humane Society, 328 Furman Hall Road, Greenville, SC 29609 or to the charity of one?s choice. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of his sister, Donna Arnold, or their respective homes.
