Johnny Irby Hazel

Johnny Irby Hazel, 95, of 6 Beattie Street, died on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at his residence. Born in Newberry, SC, he was a son of the late William L. and Bessie Troutman Hazel. Mr. Hazel retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Della K. Childress Hazel, of the home; a sister, Margaret McGraw, of Greenwood; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six sisters and three brothers. Graveside services will be held on Friday at Graceland Cemetery, West at 1:30 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice, 414 Pettigru Street, Greenville, SC 29601. The family is at the residence. Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest is assisting the family.
