Johnny Parks Pritchett, 67, of 17 Cunningham Road, husband of Betty Ann Carithers Pritchett, died Thursday, November 1, 2007 at his residence. Born in Madison County, GA., he was the son of the late William Howard and Geraldine Dale Pritchett. Mr. Pritchett was retired from Hartness International, was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, the Empire Masonic Lodge #213 and was a flight instructor for Greenville Aviation Flight School. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer with the United States Navy. He loved to Shag and was a member of the R&B Shag Club of Spartanburg and former member of the Carolina Shag Club of Greenville. He was a longtime volunteer with the American Cancer Society. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Allen Holland of Seneca; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Vincent Pritchett of Taylors, Clifton and Laura Pritchett of Greer; a former daughter-in-law, Eve Pritchett; five grandchildren, Tanner Pritchett, Sarah Benard, Cherry Pritchett, Neely Pritchett and Alex Holland; and two sisters, Betty Potts of Georgia and Gail Turner of Greenville. Memorials may be made to Camp Courage, 3915 Golden Valley Road, Minneapolis, MN 55422, Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605, Lutheran Hospice, 218 Trade Street, Greer, SC 29651 or Paralyzed Veterans of America, Southeastern Chapter, 4010 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, GA 30815-5616. Visitation will be held Monday, November 5, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence.
