Joseph Fred Bishop

Joseph Fred Bishop, 90, beloved husband of the late Kathryn Bishop, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Born in Pickens, SC, he was a son of the late Joseph and Nan Jones Bishop.

Mr. Bishop was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church, where he found solace and community through his faith. In his personal time, Joseph found joy in gardening, tending to his plants with care and nurturing them to bloom. An avid sports fan, he could often be found cheering on his favorite teams, his enthusiasm infectious to all who knew him.

Above all, he was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in the moments he spent with his loved ones. He cherished all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who brought him so much happiness. He will be remembered for his unwavering love and will be deeply missed by all.

He is survived by daughters, Patricia Padgett (Doug), Debbie Blair, Cora Lee Ward (Lee), and Jacqueline Bishop; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth Bishop Lesley.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Bishop, Jr., and Richard Kenneth Bishop; two brothers; and four sisters.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
