Joyce Hayes Kay, 84, wife of the late Ralph H. Kay, Jr. entered her Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Hayes.

Joyce was a proud graduate of Parker High School, Class of 1958. She and Ralph were married for 45 years before his death in 2003. They enjoyed many years of traveling and attending football games at Williams-Brice Stadium to cheer on the Gamecocks.

She was a retired employee of the Greenville Water System. Joyce was a member of Berea First Baptist Church.

Joyce is survived by her loving daughter, Gina Kay Tatum and husband Barry. She loved being a “MiMi” to her granddaughter, Melissa Kay Tatum Rainey and husband Chad; her grandson, Zach Tatum and wife Taylor; her great-grandchildren, Tatum Olivia Rainey, Hayden Grace Rainey and Landon Hall Tatum.

In addition to her husband and parents, Joyce was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Williams.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Spring Park Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice for the loving care they provided.

A graveside service, officiated by Dr. Chad Rickenbaker, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

So sorry for your loss. Joyce was a wonderful lady. I enjoyed our time together at church and at work. Will keep your family in our prayers.

GINA, WE ARE PRAYING FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. IT IS SO SAD TO GIVE UP YOUR PARENTS BUT WE HAVE PEACE TO KNOW THEY ARE WITH JESUS AND WE WILL SEE THEM ONE DAY.
