On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, Judi Elaine Clark, 73, died peacefully following a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Judi spent her final days surrounded by family and friends and maintained her resilient spirit to the very end.
Born in Brevard, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Jim and Wilma Owen Grant. Judi graduated from Brevard High School in 1967, before settling in Greenville, South Carolina.
Judi was well-known for her diligence and work ethic, and she enjoyed a long and productive career in Human Resources. At the time of her death, Judi was employed by The Turner Insurance Agency in Client Services and remained a valued member of the team. There, she established many meaningful relationships with colleagues and customers and found great satisfaction in her work.
Judi had many interests and hobbies, including gardening, interior design, and fashion, and she was a passionate music lover. In addition, she played a special role in the lives of the young people who knew her and regularly sought her company and counsel. Judi was truly young at heart, and she loved sipping wine, laughing, and celebrating with her family and her friends. Her love and support of her two daughters was unwavering, and her two-year-old grandson brought her tremendous joy and comfort.
She is survived by her daughters, Jana Grant Smith (Wim) and Merritt Clark; grandson, Remi Clark; brother, Mike Grant (Pamela); nephew, Mickey Grant (Sarah) and their sons, Parker and Evan Grant; niece, Heather Grant (Kait) and their daughter, Dylan Grant; niece, Holly Orzech (Matt) and their sons, Alec Smolenski and Jacob and Benjamin Orzech; nephew, Ted Tolar Jr.; and her beloved aunt, NeeNee, of Brevard, NC, as well as extended family and her many loving friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown Chapel, 639 North Main Street, Greenville, SC, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m., also at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown.
