June B Holshouser

June B. Holshouser, 76, beloved mother and grandmother, widow of Gilbert Horton Holshouser, died Thursday, June 26, 2008 at McCall Hospice House. Born in East La Porte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Emit and Orphia Stephens Bryson. Mrs. Holshouser was retired from William Goldsmith Insurance Agency. She was a longtime member of Eastlan Baptist Church and was active with WMU and the local AARP. Surviving are two daughters, Ginger H. Brissey and her husband, Beck, of Greer, Kim H. Jacobson of Heidelberg, Germany; one grandson, the joy of her life, Tyler Brissey of Greer; three sisters, Doris Chappell, Helen Patterson and her husband, Jack, and Betty Mentrikoski all of Pickens; and a sister-in-law, Mary Bryson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Donald Bryson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastlan Baptist Church Building Fund, 625 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC 29607 or Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W. Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the residence, 132 Scarlett Street, Greenville.
