Kelsie Elizabeth Hix, 23, died Sunday February 27, 2022.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of Douglas and Kimberly Watson Hix.
Kelsie was a member of Mauldin UMC.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Zachery Hix; maternal grandparents, Jerry and Elizabeth Watson; uncle, Jeff Hix; aunt, Sharon Hix; uncle, Henry Watson; aunt, Karen Watson; and long time loving friends, Ciara Gambrell and Victoria Durant.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lewis and Evelyn Hix.
Kelsie was a beautiful soul, she had a smile that would light up the darkest room. She was passionate about Astrology, numerology and crystals and loved sharing information about these to anyone who would listen. Kelsie considered several career paths, cosmetology, aesthetician, CNA and makeup artist, but never settled on any specific career.
She adored her dogs, Lilah and Gypsy, who brought her days and hours of comfort. Kelsie was the joy and light of her mother’s life & her daddy’s baby girl. Her short life was plagued by depression & recently addiction, which ultimately took her life, the result of being given a deadly drug disguised as medication.
We want to thank the staff at Shalom Recovery for being so kind and giving us 3 months with our real daughter, beautiful, safe, laughing, hopeful. For caring for her and so many others while walking with them on the road to recovery.
We also wish to thank Dr. Rob Richards and Lynne Furay for so many years of steadfast dedication to Kelsie and trying diligently to care for her, comfort her and help her.
A celebration of life service will be at a later date
