Kevin Anthony Moss, 60, husband of Lisa Moss and father of Tony Moss, passed away in his sleep and ran into the loving arms of Jesus, Sunday September 18, 2022.
Born and raised in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late Herbert and Joan Moss. He was a graduate of JR Tucker High School and a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute. During high school, he enjoyed playing football and playing baseball earlier in his youth. He was well known for his sense of humor and his great ability to mimic. He enjoyed his years up in Blacksburg, VA and worked hard to put himself through school. He was dedicated to his Hokies and indoctrinated his wife to Beamer Ball and special teams! Throughout his time in school, he pursued his love for history and was a voracious reader so it was no surprise he could converse in depth about many subjects. Kevin was gregarious and enjoyed making friends and introducing people to different genres of music and other media. He also had a very kind heart and did not like to see people degraded. His Faith was important to him and he depended on it to guide him in his daily life and shelter and grow him through his achievements and challenges.
Mr. Moss was a current member of Advent United Methodist Church and had served and in many capacities in the United Methodist church throughout his married life. He taught Disciple classes for several years to adults and then in his later years embraced teaching children at Vacation Bible School and Sunday school. He had a special way of connecting with children and they responded in kind. Much of what he learned from being a father, he put into practice when he taught his classes. He was united in marriage to his wife, Lisa, who he married in Portage, Michigan in August of 1993. For work, they moved around east of the Mississippi for 29 years. After their son, Tony, was born, he was on the board of the Westerville Public Library where he would walk his son in his stroller to sign out books and then possibly go find a garage sale to peruse. The Moss household was filled with its own library and collections of his many interests.
He was survived by his wife, Lisa and son, Tony; sister Stacy Moss; niece Simone Moss; sister Kristin Gutierrez (Gabriel); nephew Diego Gutierrez; niece Maya Gutierrez; brother-in-law Eric Schott; sister-in-law Leigh Ann den Hartog (Steve); nephew Joshua den Hartog (Kassie); great nephews Nathan and Kaleb den Hartog; niece Anna Paulson (Jacob); and niece Sophie den Hartog
