Lonnie and Lannie were customers of mine many years ago and I must admit, calling on those guys and getting to know them and their families was always the highlight of my visits to Greenville. The world is a lesser place without Lannie - he was a loving husband and father; fun to be around; a good friend and generally one of the nicest people you could meet.

Blessings and prayers for comfort to you Margaret, Lonnie and Bobby and Jana and to all of your family. With heart, Karen

My memories of Lannie bring joy to my heart and smile on my face. We were fellow red wine lovers. Our houses being side by side means we had opportunities galore! He always had a new wine he wanted me to try. Oh the stories we shared ... the laughter. No one's laugh could make me laugh like Lannie's. That boyish grin. Bobbing in lake water with drinks....wine and cheese and a shared wedding Anniversary brought us to table after table. Fire pit nights. The "money finger". These are all the gifts that Lannie gave and we gladly recieved. See you in heaven my friend. Love you and miss you.

My favorite memory of Lannie. There are so many times that we laughed on the back porch and about so many things is hard to pick one out specifically, but Lannie's laugh will always make me smile. We miss you Lannie!

Margaret and family, I was saddened to see the news about Lannie's death yesterday. I had not seen Lannie in more than 50 years. I know we were in at least late elementary school and early high school together in Travelers Rest. I think it was in the 6th grade and Lannie and Lonnie were in different classes. They would occasionally swap places. We all knew it, but the teachers at least pretended not to know. They provided a measure of hilarity for all of us. I'm praying the you will experience the comfort of the Holy Spirit and that as you grieve, it will be with hope. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

Been praying for the Clayton family. Always thought the world of Lannie. I have not seen Lannie in awhile but I knew him as a humble, caring soul who loved his Carolina Gamecocks. Always enjoyed our conversations when I would run into Lannie; just a good man! Sad to hear of his passing. Will continue to pray for the Clayton family. Mitch Gault

In the brief five months I cared for Mr. Clayton, he very quickly became not just a patient, but a cherished friend. His companionship meant the world to me. We loved watching Jesse Watters together. Caring for Lannie was uniquely challenging because of his kindness; he never wanted to burden others or draw attention to himself by complaining. Yet, his quiet strength, and genuine care for others showed through every interaction. Working with him was a true pleasure, and the memories we created together are treasured. Lannie will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever miss him.

I worked with Lannie at PYA Monarch many years ago. I have told several people over the years that Lannie was the smartest accountant I ever knew. Although we haven't been in touch in the last several years, I still have many fond memories of my time spent with Lannie, in and out of the office. My condolences to Margaret and the rest of the Clayton family.
