Leah Whitmire Hix

September 9, 1914 - June 3, 2006
Leah Whitmire Hix, 91, of 404 Hodgens Drive, died Saturday at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Transylvania County, N.C., she was a daughter of the late General Ranza and Elizabeth Chapman Whitmire, and the wife of the late Albert Hugh Hix. Mrs. Hix was a loving homemaker and a member of Living Praise Worship Center. Surviving are two daughters, Wilma Hix Fortune, and Janis Hix Siefers and husband, Joe Siefers, all of Travelers Rest; a son, Weldon Hix and wife, Joann Moore Hix, of Easley; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Funeral services will be at 12 noon Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at Grand View Memorial Gardens.
