Leona Richardson Roddy

Leona Richardson Roddy, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 9, 2007. She was the daughter of the late Walter A. and Addie Mae Richardson. She was a 1945 graduate of Parker High School and retired from J.P. Stevens, Inc., Monaghan Plant. She was a faithful member of Heritage Baptist Church, the Dot Boiter Sunday School Class and Intercessory Prayer Group. Leona will be missed greatly by her family that she loved so much – her daughter, Charlene Bowling and her husband, Mike of Easley; her daughter-in-law, Nancy H. Roddy of Greenville; her grandchildren, Lisa Hughey and her husband, Jason of Greenville, Julie Willimon and her husband, Cody of Taylors, Kimberly Roddy of Suffolk, VA and Kevin Roddy, of Riverside, CA; her sister, Mary Campbell and her husband, Hugh of Simpsonville; her great-grandchildren, Corbin and Caleb Miller, Blake and Mackenzie Hughey, and Hannah Willimon. She was predeceased by her son, Jack R. Roddy, Jr., her brother, Charles W. Richardson and her sister, Margaret Williams. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at Airport Baptist Church, 776 S. Batesville Rd., Greer, SC with Rev. Mike Bowling and Rev. Trenton Connelly officating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m on Sunday, March 11, 2007. The family is at the home of her daughter, 400 Antioch Rd., Easley, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Heartland Hopice, 421 S.W. Main Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681.
