Leonard Simpson, 92, formerly of Evergreen Street, died on Sunday, June 18, 2006 at Greenville Living Center. Born in Pickens, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Dora Masters Simpson and husband of the late Mattie Lee Shetley Simpson. Mr. Simpson retired from Union Bleachery and was a member of Tremont Church of God. Surviving are a daughter, Jean Rivers and husband Bill, of Greenville; three grandchildren, Pam Hyatt and husband Fred, Paige Messer and husband Chris, and Joey Jeffeaux and wife Nikki; three great grandchildren, Chris Moore and wife Donna, Dylan Messer, and Alexis Jeffeaux; three great great-grandchildren, Dakotah, Dalton and Haylee; a brother, Edwin Simpson, of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Eileen Jackson of Easley, and Elizabeth Plumtree of Glendale, CA. Mr. Simpson was predeceased by two brothers, R.T. and Milford Simpson. Services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation from 12 Noon ? 1:15 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family is at the home of Jean Rivers, 14 Latham Drive.
