Leroy “Pete” Christopher, 88 of Greenville, beloved husband of 64 years to Linda Leopard Christopher, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022.
Born in Tigerville, SC, he was a son of the late Albert and Mozell Williams Christopher.
Leroy retired from Wagner Systems after 46 dedicated service years. He loved to go bass fishing on Lake Greenwood, loved watching westerns (especially True Grit) and watching wrestling. He loved spending time with his family and he especially loved having “BBQ’s” with his family.
Pete and Linda met as youngsters. Pete told Linda at the age of 10, that he would someday marry her. That promise came true in May of 1958.
His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loving wife, Linda; and their wonderful daughter, Kimberley Gillespie and husband, Allen; he was “Papa” to his two adoring granddaughters, Tiffany Riddle and husband, Tim, and Alana Nalley; two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Alex Riddle; his brother, Ronnie Christopher; brother-in-law, Malcolm Leopard; sister-in-law, Sharon Stevens; and numerous other loving family members.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by two of his loving children, Tammy Lee Christopher and Lloyd Curtis Christopher; two sisters, Doris Outzes and Mildred Ellison and her husband, Charles.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, October 3rd, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022, at 12 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown Chapel, with burial to follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
