Letha Howard Groves

Letha Howard Groves, 76, of 926 Cleveland Street, Apt. J211, died on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at her residence. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Gurley and Lora Howard. She was married for forty-eight years to the love of her life, Samuel Dyer Groves, who was a career Air Force Sergeant. He predeceased her in 1998 and she has now rejoined him at her new address, heaven. Mrs. Groves was a homemaker and textile worker and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a son, Charles M. Groves, of Greenville; a daughter, Dr. Pat Jauregu and husband Larry, of Freemont, CA; three grandchildren, Emily Groves of Greenville, Joe Tillotson of Chicago, IL, and Kelley Ensen of Raleigh, NC; a great grandson, Grayson Tillotson, of Chicago, IL; and a sister-in-law, Ola Groves, of Summersville, WV. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Services will be held on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605. The family is at the home of the son, Charles Groves, 200 Sweet Briar Drive.
