Lewis Ray Evans

Lewis Ray Evans, 75, died Friday, December 28, 2007, at St. Francis, Downtown. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late George T. and Rosa Lee Holcombe Evans. Mr. Evans served in the U. S. Marine Corp during the Korean conflict. He was a mail carrier and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years. Survivors are his wife of 56 years, Vera Childers Evans; a daughter, Karen Turner and husband, Martin, of Belton; a son, Keith Evans and wife, Deborah, of Townville; grandchildren, Amy Davis and husband, Jeff, Travis Turner and wife, Alecia and Rusty Evans; great-grandchildren, Ross Davis, Dillon Davis and Eli Turner; and sisters, Emma Lee Womack and Betty Wilson. Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the Northwest Chapel.
