Lila Taylor Bishop

November 16, 1916 - January 1, 2006
Lila Taylor Bishop, 89, of Magnolias of Easley, 123 Couch Lane, formerly of 5 Edgewood Drive, Greenville, died Sunday, January 01, 2006 at St. Francis, Downtown. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Bishop was the widow of W. A. Bishop, Jr. and the daughter of the late Raymond Grady and Sally Carpenter Taylor. She was retired from J.P. Stevens White Horse Plant. She was a very active member of Dunean Baptist Church, where she taught in the pre-school Sunday School Department for more than 35 years, and was active in the Women?s Missionary Union. Mrs. Bishop was also a member of the Langley Heights Community Club. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bishop Johnson and her husband, Andy of Greenville; her son David A. Bishop and his wife, Carolyn of Roswell, GA; four grandchildren, Kevin and Colin Johnson of Greenville, Kathryn Bishop Stenslie of Barbourville, KY, and Capt. Robin Bishop Mooney, serving in Iraq; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Taylor Cochran of Belmont, NC; and a brother, Joe L. Taylor of Greenburg, KY. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Karin Johnson and a brother, J. Ray Taylor. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Dunean Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Dunean Baptist Church, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, or International Mission Board, P.O. Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230. The family is at the home of Linda Johnson, 6 Rison Road, Greenville.
