Lillian Margaret Spencer

Lillian Margaret Moody Spencer, loving wife and mother, 78, of 200 Trammell Road, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 4, 2008. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late C.J. and Reba Burns Moody. She and her husband, James C. Spencer, were married for 57 years. Mrs. Spencer was the retired owner of C.J. Moody Fuel Oil Service. She was a dedicated member of Berea First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. In addition, she faithfully served as a G.A. leader, a W.M.U. group leader, a member of the Senior Adult Choir and as a volunteer with the Reaching Center. She was a member and past president of the Loyalty Sunday School Class. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Christie S. Hughes Thomas, and Terri S. Waldrop, all of Greenville; two sons, Tim Spencer and wife, Angie, of Taylors, and Dean Spencer, of Easley, and five grandchildren, Tyler and Christopher Hughes, Taylor Ann, Dallas and Carson Spencer. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jack C. Moody and Douglas L. Moody. The funeral service will be Monday, January 7, 2008 at Berea First Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Senior Adult Building at the church. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West. Members of the Loyalty Sunday School Class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
