Lillie Mae Merritt

Lillie Mae F. Merritt, 83, died Monday, September 12, 2005. She was the widow of William Harold Merritt, and was born in Greenville, a daughter of the late Jay Elton Fendley and Essie Lockaby Fendley. Mrs. Merritt retired from Judson Mill, and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Auditorium Sunday School Class. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou Jenkins and her husband Lynn of Greer, and Diane M. Ramey and her husband John of Greenville; a sister, Shirley F. Landreth, of Greenville; a brother, Leo Finley, of Easley; five grandchildren, Cindy Kelley, Billy Messer, Brian Messer, Patrick Gaines and Chris Gaines; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Gail M. Messer; a son-in-law, Russell Black; a grandson, Steven Black; sisters, Mary F. Gambrell and Cleo Reid; and brothers, Elton and Charlie Fendley. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 ? 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Services will be held on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West. The family is at their respective homes.
