Linda Carol Holland Burchett, 56, of 107 Staunton Court, died on Wednesday, October, 11, 2006. Born near Stokesdale, NC; she was a daughter of the late Leonard Holland and Bertha Marshall Holland and the youngest of twelve siblings. Mrs. Burchett graduated from Northwest High School in Stokesdale, NC, and was employed for Central Carolina Bank in Stokesdale, as a teller until her marriage to Grady Burchett. After moving to Greenville, she was a dedicated employee for First Piedmont Bank, and later worked at Basic Systems Inc. and finished her working career with Building Management and Controls, where she has been employed for the last nine years. She was an accredited member of the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers and a notary. She was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church where she served in numerous offices and participated in church visitation, Awanas, and played competitive sports with the church teams. She was an avid softball player, and was voted best player in the state of NC in her division as a young woman. She was also an avid fan of Gospel music and quartet music as sung by southern gospel quartets. She was the wonderful wife of Grady E. Burchett for 32 years. Surviving are her husband, Grady E. Burchett, of the home, two sons, Seth Alan Burchett, of Greenville; Morgan Alexander Burchett, of the home; step-daughters, Rosalie Megan Hollingshead, of New Port Richie, FL; Capt. Brandi Ritter, USAF, of Hagerstown, MD; eight sisters, Nancy Alley, Judy White, Gladys Vaughn, Jean Freeman, Ruth Brady, Joanne Clark, Frances Whicker, and Bonnie Hill, three brothers, Grady Holland, Jack Holland, and Jimmy Holland, her sibling family of the Greensboro, Stokesdale and Summerfield area of NC. She is predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Burchett. She received the best of care from all her caregivers and medical professionals, but God had a different need for her. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 3:00 pm at Tanglewood Baptist Church with visitation to follow after the service.
