Linda Carole Carter

Linda Carole Hammons Carter, 58, widow of David Allen Carter, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at her residence. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter Theresa Carver Hammons and the late Aaron B. Hammons, Sr. Mrs. Carter was a homemaker. Surviving in addition to her mother, are two daughters, Katie Gill of Powdersville, and Jodi Stewart of Liberty; a son, Kenneth Daniels of Greer; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; four sisters, Becky Watkins of Greer, Sheryle Gassaway of Duncan, Merry Beth Snyder of Greenville, Julie Humphries of Taylors; two brothers, Benny Hammons of North Carolina, and Jerry Hammons of Greer. She was preceded in death by a child, Laurie Ann Henson and Meagan Stewart, her granddaughter. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621. Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2007 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be Friday, December 21, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence.
