Linda Lou Gilstrap, 76, wife of the late James Dennis Gilstrap, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, April 30, 2021.
Born in Greenville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Sybil Boiter.
Mrs. Gilstrap was of the Pentecostal faith. She was retired from A Child’s Haven, as a teacher where her passion was children. She left the legacy of “The Child Whisperer” to all her students and co-workers. She loved gardening and beautiful flowers and enjoyed her extended doll collection and sewing. Her greatest love and enjoyment came from her family and the time spent with one another.
She is survived by daughters, Sherri Rollins and Cynthia Gilstrap; grandchildren, Cody Bridges (Amber), Kayla Bellis (JR), and Jennifer Hooper (Josh); great grandchildren, Waylon and Hunter Bridges, Tyler Simmons and Connor Bellis; and sisters, Kathy Wyatt and Shirley Bowling.
In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Boiter.
A public viewing will be held Thursday, May 06, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery West. Masks are required in all Thomas McAfee Funeral Home locations and attendees are strongly encouraged to follow CDC guidelines on social distancing.
