Linda M. Brown

On Monday, October 17, 2005, Linda M. Brown stepped into Heaven with family lovingly by her side. We celebrate her life overflowing with love of family, friends and colleagues. We may no longer see her, but the memories of the joy, the kindness, the unselfishness and generosity will be eternal. Linda inspired so many people with her always positive can-do attitude and happy-go-lucky personality. She will be alive in our hearts and minds each time we remember her loving spirit. Nana, thank you for always being our Angel. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Jerry Retodd and Buna Vickie Cox Massie. Mrs. Brown was employed with Lockheed-Martin for eighteen years where she achieved many awards including the National Rising Star Award and was always noted for ?going the extra mile?. Linda continuously volunteered for her community and was a Mentor for a 7th grade student at Tanglewood Elementary School. She was a member of Leawood Baptist Church and was a breast cancer survivor-mentor. Surviving are her husband of thirty-eight years, Charles Brown, of the home; two sons, Brian Brown and his wife Joie and Craig Brown; two grandchildren, Jacob and Riley Brown; a sister, Shirley Peebles; and a brother, Randall Massie. She is predeceased by a sister, Wanda Thornton. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2005 at Berea First Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Cancer Society of Greenville County, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605.
