Lindsey Dalvin Cole, Jr

Lindsey Dalvin Cole, Jr., 91, of 518 Grove Road, died on Friday, December 16, 2005. Born in Davidson County, NC, he was the son of Lindsey D. and Annice Olivia Taylor Cole. Mr. Cole served in the U.S. Army Air Forces in World War II. He was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Grace Beeks Cole of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Lindsey Dalvin III and Martha Hartley Cole; a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Don Henry, of Aiken, SC; a grandson, Lindsey Reed Cole; and a granddaughter, Caroline Grace Cole. Mr. Cole retired from the Southern Railroad after 38 years of service. He was a member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Walden Masonic Lodge 274, and Hejaz Temple of the Shrine and Scottish Rite. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home Downtown. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 ? 1:15 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pendleton Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 1100 S. Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601 or to Meals on Wheels, 15 Oregon Street, Greenville, SC 29605.
