Lloyd H. Crumley

Lloyd H. Crumley, 83, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Crumley was born on October 8, 1922 in Greenwood, SC to the late John Henry and Lelia Boyd Crumley. He was a graduate of Parker High School and retired after thirty-seven years of service with Southern Bell Telephone Company. He served honorably in the United States Navy and was awarded the Medal China Service, World War II Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, U.S. Navy Good Conduct Medal, and the Occupation Service Medal for his service in World War II. Mr. Crumley is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of fifty-six years, Louise Sally Crumley; three sons, Michael Crumley of Newnan, GA, Stan Crumley and wife Debbie of Greer, and Tim Crumley of Tallahassee, FL; four grandchildren, Michele Coffee and husband Daniel, Jared Crumley and wife Katie, and Laura Crumley all of Newnan, GA, and Chase Crumley of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Jack Crumley, of Greenville; two sisters, Ruby Gaddis of Greer, and Grace Wilbanks of Greenville; and eight great-grandchildren. He was a member of Sans Souci Baptist Church for fifty-three years. He was blessed with many marvelous friends and golfing buddies during his lifetime. Our family remains grateful for the many thoughts and prayers during his illness. Services will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation from 12 Noon ? 1:15 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A private commital service will be held following the funeral service. The family is at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice, 414 Pettigru Street, Greenville, SC 29601 or the charity of one?s choice.
