Lois Shipman Fleming, 84, wife of the late Gene Fleming, died Sunday, August 9, 2020.

Born in Travelers Rest, SC, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Alma Moody Shipman.

Lois was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She loved her God, church, and her family.

She is survived by a son, Roger Fleming (Teresa); daughters, Teresa Cepek (Shane) and Lisa Cepek (David); grandchildren, Dale, Sabrina, Alex, Connie, Brad, and Josie; great grandchildren, Hunter, Tyler, Kaitlin, Maddox, Aleeah, Nolan, Eli, Blake, and Gray; a great great grandchild, Cora; sister, Juanita Sutherland; and a brother,Leon Shipman.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jay Fleming; sisters, Jean Pittman, Evelyn Garrett; and Lynn Fleming; and brothers, Jack and Calvin Shipman.

Mrs. Fleming will lie in state on Thursday, August 13, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. A funeral service will be Friday, August 14, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. Visitors and attendees are encouraged to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines, seating will be limited. Burial will be held in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church, 80 Long Forest Drive, Greenville, SC 29617.

I just heard about the loss of your mother and I would just like to say how sorry I am for your loss. I did not know her well but she seems like a very nice lady and may God be with you and yours.

You always had a warm welcome and a beautiful smile. Your love for others you inherited from your mother. Enjoyed the time that we spent together. Love you and your family.

My sweet aunt Lois. There are too many memories to share here. You have been a part of my whole life. As a child I remember the camping, the picnics, going to vacation Bible school and so many others with you. As an adult you have been there for me so much. I loved spending time with you and mom. I enjoyed our mountain trip and just sitting on the porch talking. You have such a sweet heart and a love for the ones in your life. Your outlook on life is a lesson I need to learn. You enjoyed life to the fullest in the small things and big things. I love and appreciate you so much. I know I will see you again in Heaven. Until then I will hold you in my heart and remember the good times. God is Good All the Time.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I thought so very much of Lois. She was a sweet soul I was always happy to see. May God be with you all to comfort and strengthen you during this time.

So heartbreaking to hear! The last time I saw her she was pumping gas in her little VW! Very special lady! Always had a kind word and a big smile! Prayers for y’all now and in the coming days! We love y’all!
