Louis T. Fennell

August 31, 1925 - June 7, 2008
Louis "Luke" Tillman Fennell, 82, of 312 Bentwood Rd, died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. Born in Greenville County, he was the husband of Jean Thacker Fennell and son of the late Warren Wallace Fennell and Elsie Fennell Edwards. He was a US Army WWII veteran, a retired employee of Celanese Corp. and a 23-year employee of Duke Power. He was a 32nd degree Mason, an avid golfer and a Hejaz Shriner. Luke attended River Road Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his loving wife, is a daughter, Betty Foster Johnny of Marietta; two sons, Malcomb Fennell Brenda of Marietta, Louis T. Fennell, Jr. Susan of Easley; two step-daughters, Patricia Moon of Greer, Barbara Garrett of Greenville; two step-sons, Steve Childress of Taylors, Lamar Childress of Greenville; 16 grand- children and 6 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at 7:00 pm, Monday, June 9, 2008 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. Visitation will be 5-6:45 pm Monday prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605. The family is at the residence.
