Loyd Garland Roberts

Loyd Garland Roberts, age 73, a veteran of the U.S. Army, died at his home after a long illness with lung cancer. In addition to his wife of 53 years, Beawayne, are three daughters and son-in-laws, Ginny and Bobby Davis, Elizabeth and Ben Howard, and Sylvia and Barry Griffin; seven grandchildren, Brooke Howard Berry, Brandi Howard, Carrie, Josh and Kim Griffin; predeceased by two grandsons, Robert G. Davis and Jeramie H. Davis, Sr.; five great-grandchildren, Chase and Carson Berry, Jeramie, Jordan and Jaycie Davis. Loyd?s pastor, Justin Gilreath, will conduct the funeral service at Piedmont United Methodist Church on Friday, September 7, 2007 at 11:00 am. Graveside service at Graceland cemetery to follow. Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2007 from 7:00 ? 8:30 pm at the funeral home. The family is at the family home. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to Cancer Centers of the Carolinas, Research Dept., 65 International Drive, Greenville, SC 29615. The family would like to thank Dr. Joe Stephenson, all caregivers at the Cancer Center of the Carolinas, St. Francis Cancer Center, Hospice and all friends and family that added so much to ?our Papa?s? last 3 years of life.
