Loyd James Posey

Loyd James Posey, 84, widower of Louise Alexander Posey, went home on Sunday, March 18, 2007. Born in Pickens County on April 19, 1922, he was the son of the late John W. and Jeanette Gaddis Posey. Mr. Posey was a member of Living Sanctuary Church in Piedmont. He was retired from Steel Heddle Manufacturing. He lived most of his life in the Poe Mill Community of Greenville County. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Faye Posey and William Boyd Lowe of Easley; two grandchildren, Sydney Lorraine Lowe and William Nathaniel Lowe; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Posey loved his family greatly and loved being with them as much as possible. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Noon at Living Sanctuary Church. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, West. The family will be 118 Turkey Trot Court, Easley.
