Mrs. Marianne Jenkins Rutledge, 71, of 33 W. Tallulah Drive, passed away on July 25, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Charleston, Mrs. Rutledge was the daughter of the late David Jamison and Esther Allston Wayne Jenkins and the wife of William White Rutledge, Sr. Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Dorothy Sandifer Rutledge of Greenville; 2 sons, William White Rutledge, Jr. of Greenville and David Jamison Rutledge of Spartanburg; 2 grandsons, John Jamison Rutledge and Christopher Franklin Rutledge, both of Spartanburg; and a cousin, Kathleen Jenkins Parish. Mrs. Rutledge was predeceased by a daughter, Esther Rutledge. Mrs. Rutledge was the last valedictorian of Memminger High School, Charleston, SC and attended the University of South Carolina. She volunteered for many years at St. Francis Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She was a life long Episcopalian. Visitation will be at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, DT Chapel on Wednesday, July 28, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 29, 1:30 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
