Marie Miller Lott went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 14, 2022.
Marie was born in Edgefield, SC on January 8, 1933 to Jack and Nita Miller. She was known for her love of family history and her ability to tell interesting stories of growing up in the close-knit Colliers Community during the Great Depression and WWII.
Marie was gentle, kind and loving and will be remembered for her generosity, her willingness to listen and her genuine interest in other people. She always expressed her love for Christ and her desire for others to know Him, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Throughout her adult life, Marie taught children’s Sunday School and Bible School classes. She was a member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church where she and James were loved and encouraged by their church family.
Marie is survived by James Lott, her devoted husband of almost 69 years, and her daughters, Cathy Hampton (Wayne), Laurie Brown (Tim), and Cindy Anderson (Mike). She was a loving grandmother to Mary Beth, Annie, Stephen, Scott, Josh, Katie and Jake. She treasured her 12 great grandchildren and prayed for them daily by name. Marie is also survived by her brother, Wayne Miller, and sister, Patsy Bryan.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Kay Holt and Jackie White; and granddaughters, Mary Beth Hampton Clevenger, and Annie Hampton Ball.
A memorial service will be held at Red Hill Baptist Church in Edgefield, South Carolina on March 5th beginning at 11:00 a.m.
