Marion Clark Hazard, 95,returned to the blessed arms of the Lord on April 22, 2024 her presence remains with us as we remember her and all that she meant to each of us.
Having been born in the fabled Saratoga Springs, New York to Gill Clark and Minnie (Weston) Clark on November 17, 1928, she saw nearly a century of change, turmoil and new experiences. In many ways her life reflects those same things: marrying and raising and nurturing her four children; in middle age following her heart to the beaches of Florida; working as a highly respected as an expert claims adjuster; and finally realizing her ultimate dream of living her retirement years in her log home in her beloved mountains of Tennessee. Through all these years she loved meeting new people and latterly sharing her life with her dear Mittens, Prince, Savannah and Meg.
A lifelong Methodist, she always enjoyed being involved in activities in the church. She was filled with Christian compassion, often going out of her way to support and comfort those in need and her love for God was evident in all that she was. She was especially proud of her long membership and active participation in the Good Fellowship Sunday School Class of Sevierville First United Methodist Church during all the years she lived in Tennessee.
As she becomes part of the celestial throng in the Lord’s loving and welcoming arms she is again united with her parents and her long departed sisters Janet Clark and Elisabeth Graves. Left to thank God for her and all she meant to them are her four children: Wayne Hazard of Greenville, SC; Bruce (Elizabeth) Hazard of South Glens Falls, NY; Glenn Hazard of Middleburg, VA; and Gayle (Robert) Bencivenga of Greer, SC; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and her sister Jean Ernst of Saratoga Springs, NY.
While we may no longer see or touch her, she is nonetheless there for each of us. May her heavenly presence continue to warm your heart.
