Marion Nelson Douglas, 71, of Miller Oaks Village, died Friday, May 2, 2008. Born in Edgefield, SC on March 23, 1937, he was the son of Douglas Lee and Agnes Pearl Cato Douglas and husband of Melba Trammell Douglas. An Edgefield county native most of his life, he graduated from Edgefield High School in 1955. He played basketball in high school, but enjoyed many sports. Mr. Douglas fought a good fight against cancer, but is now at peace with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Mr. Douglas was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Trenton, SC. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a step daughter, Cheryl Crowley and husband Jimmy of Piedmont; three step sons, Bob Campbell and wife Pat of Simpsonville, Danny Campbell and wife Becky of Easley, and Ed Campbell and wife Judy of Fountain Inn; two sisters, Hazel Ross and husband Tommy of Abbington, VA, and Pat Douglas of Martinez, GA; a nephew, Frank Whitlock and wife Meta of North, SC; a great niece and a great nephew. He was preceded in death by a brother, Heyward Douglas. Memorials may be made to the Greenville Rescue Mission, 575 Washington St., Greenville, SC 29601. The Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown with visitation to follow.
