Martha Lawton Stewart of Greenville, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born November 20, 1923, in Sanford, NC, and was the daughter of the late Kenley and Ann Lawton. She was a member of Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, a loving mother, Bookkeeper, Executive Secretary and retired from the Cotton Industry. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Stewart Lesemann of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three sons and their wives, Robert L. and Martha Carol Stewart of Watkinsville, GA, William T. and Cindy H. Stewart of Greer, SC, and Kenley C. and Cindy T. Stewart of Mt. Pleasant, SC; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2008 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Stephen Crotts of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church on Cleveland Street at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, with burial following the service at Springwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Martha requested memorials be made to Salvation Army, 203 Rutherford Street, Greenville, SC 29609; Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 741 Cleveland Street, Greenville, SC 29601; or National MS Society, Mid-Atlantic Chapter, 9801-1 Southern Pine Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28273.
