Martha Lee Franklin

Martha Lee Franklin, 70, loving wife, mother and nana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 4, 2007. Born in Canton, NC she was a daughter of the late George W. and Hazel Kuykendall. Mrs. Franklin attended Asheville Biltmore College and retired from Young & Restless Daycare. She was a member of Victory Chapel Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of forty-eight years, G.S. Franklin; a daughter, Deana O?Shields, daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Tobey McAbee, Loretta and Bryan McDowell, and Chris and David Clark; three sisters, Wanda Rose Gorman, Judith Ann Thomasson, and Naomi Stuart; a brother, Clifford Kuykendall; eight grandchildren, Karen Osborne, Michelle Templeton, Michael Aikens, Jeremy and Alex McDowell, Jessica O?Shields, Jonathan and Matthew Clark; and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother and a sister. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest with visitation immediately following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Victory Chapel Baptist Church, Building Fund, 10 S. Pine Lake Circle, Greenville, SC 29605. The family is at the residence.
