Marty Allison Dryman

Marty Allison Dryman, 49, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2008. He was born at Greenville Memorial Hospital on January 1, 1959. Marty was a graduate of Berea High School and earned a B.A. in History at the University of South Carolina. Marty entered the US Marine Corp. on August 12, 1977. During his military service he was trained as an Aircraft Structure Mechanic. He served a one-year tour in Okinawa, Japan; then was reassigned to the Marine Corp. Wing at Beaufort, South Carolina. Marty is survived by his parents, Jewell R. and Bertie A. Dryman; the mother of his children, Sophia Eller Dryman; two daughters, Anastasia and Amberleigh Dryman, of Simpsonville; and two sisters, Debra S. Nelson of Greer and Janie D. Jernigan of Seneca. He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Mitchell Dryman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 218 Trade Street, Greer, SC 29651. The family would like to thank Sue, Cathy, Fran and Carrie of Lutheran Hospice.
