Mary Dorothy Beemer

December 23, 1927 - March 25, 2008
Dorothy F. Beemer, 80, of 103 Newland Avenue, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 after an extended illness and remarkable battle with cancer. Born in Tigerville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clifford C. and Annie Mae Pittman Fore. Mrs. Beemer was retired from Beemer Metal Works and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Surviving are four children: Dorothy "Anita" Beemer of the home; Dr. David B. Beemer and his wife Dawn, of Easley; Vernon Michael Beemer and his wife Barbara, of Belton, TX; and Dr. Charles T. Beemer and his wife Susan, of Sanford, NC; five grandchildren, Brian, Brent, Anna, Zachary and Whitney Beemer; and a sister, Argel F. Ballenger of Mauldin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Olga F. Babb. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 403 Sulphur Springs Road, Greenville, SC 29617 The family will be at the residence.
