Mary Ellen Barnette

Mary Ellen Coggins Barnette, 74, of 705 Palmetto Avenue, died Saturday, October 29, 2005. Born in Greenville County, she was the wife of Claude James Barnette, Sr. and a daughter of the late Estella Timmons Coggins Hall. Mrs. Barnette was retired from Kent Manufacturing and she was a member of Russell Memorial Presbyterian Church. Surviving in addition to her husband of 58 years, are two daughters, Shelby Alexander and husband, James of Pickens, Rhonda Hester and husband, Randy, of Easley; four sons, James Barnette, and wife, Donna, of Mauldin, Jessie Barnette, and wife, Brenda , of Pickens, Claude Barnette, Jr. and wife, Phyllis of Pickens, Jerry Barnette and wife, Lynn, of Dacusville; two sisters, Elsie Jones, of Piedmont, Flora Poole, of Greer; one brother, Larkin E. Coggins, Jr., of Piedmont; ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at Russell Memorial Presbyterian Church with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8:30 p.m., Monday at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The family will be at the home of daughter, Rhonda Hester, 181 Robbie Court, Easley, SC.
