Mary L Blalack

Mary L. Blalack, 85, passed away Monday evening at her residence in Greenville, SC. The memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20, at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville, TN, with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Blalack was born in Martin, TN, attended the University of Tennessee at Martin, and later lived in Memphis and Fayetteville, TN. She taught high school and worked in public relations before becoming a devoted wife and mother. She had a kind, generous spirit and was beloved by her family and friends. For the past several years, she lived near her daughter, Kathy Blalack-Dengler and husband Paul of Simpsonville. Mrs. Blalack, the wife of the late Dr. Edwin E. Blalack for 40 years, leaves a son, Ed Blalack of Huntsville, AL, and another daughter, Missy Blalack-McClendon and husband Steve of Germantown, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church, c/o Building Fund, 106 Church Street, Simpsonville, SC 29681-2613.
