Mary Ruth Painter

March 19, 1916 - January 22, 2008
Mary Ruth Painter, 91, widow of Clifford Holmes Painter, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Regency Hospital. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Jesse James and Ruth Sizemore Brady. Mrs. Painter was a greeter with Wal-Mart and member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Georgeann and Dale Peters of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, John T. and Brenda Painter of Clinton; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; fourteen great great grandchildren; and a sister, Kathleen Wilson of Greenville. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Leroy Painter, two sisters and a brother. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 2106 Old Buncombe Road, Greenville, Sc 29609. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes.
