Mary Belle Stephens Finley, 88, of Greenville, beloved wife of the late James Finley, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023.
Born in Easley, SC, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Eunice Taylor Stephens.
A 1953 graduate of Easley High School where she was voted Miss Green & White, Mary retired from Winn-Dixie after 25 plus years of service, then retired again from Hertz after another 25 plus years.
Mary was an avid sports fan, especially loved cheering on her Clemson Tigers.
Mary was a woman who epitomized love and compassion. Her family adored her, and she reciprocated that love tenfold. She lived her life with kindness, always showing genuine care and concern for others. Mary’s selflessness was evident to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, as she consistently put the needs of others before her own.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is survived by son, Michael Finley; grandchildren, Michelle Bowyer (Pete), Travis Finley, Bo Finley, and Amanda Harmon; great grandchildren, Chloe Bowyer and Anessa Garrett.
In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lynn Finley Harmon; and four brothers.
A visitation will be held Sunday, August 06, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Burial will be held in Graceland Cemetery West .
