Mary Virginia Cooley Bishop

Mary Cooley Bishop, 81, of 17 Duncan Road, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008. Born in Honea Path, she was a daughter of the late Augustus G. and Ethel Cothran Cooley and wife of the late Douglas Eugene Bishop. Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker and a member of Berea First Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Cathy Bishop Hammond, of Greenville; a son, Douglas Bishop, of Greenville; four sisters, Nancy Egan of Greenville, Dorothy Werner of Honea Path, Lucille Parker of Powdersville, and Margaret Ann Hiott of Belton; two brothers, Pete Cooley of Honea Path, and Johnny Cooley of Greer; five grandchildren, Amanda Morris, Leslie Bishop, Rodney Bishop, Christopher Hammond and Matthew Hammond; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jean Bishop; and seven siblings. A graveside service will be Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 1:30 pm at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
