Mazel Davis Ray

Mazel Davis Ray, 86, widow of James Hubert Ray, Sr., died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Stroud Nursing Home. Born in Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Jefferson and Lydia Radcliff Davis. Along with her husband, Mrs. Ray owned and operated Shaw?s Luncheonette, where they retired, and started the Country Ham House one year later. She was a member of Sans Souci Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Sarah R. ?Trixie? Webb and her husband Bob of Greenville; a son, James Ray, Jr. and his wife Linda of Greenville; five grandchildren, Gina Jay. Bobby Garren, Eddie Garren, Jim Ray, III, Bryan Ray; and five great grandchildren, Joshua Garren J.K. Jay, III, Carter Jay, Courtney Ray, and Colbie James Ray. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stroud Nursing Home Employee Fund, 2906 Geer Highway, Marietta, SC 29661. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 23, 2006 at 3:00 pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park Remembrance Chapel. The family will be at their respective homes.
