Michael H. Fazio

Michael H. Fazio, Sr., 88, of 8 Carlton Avenue, died Sunday, October 19, 2008.
Born in Hamilton, OH, he was married to the late Doris L. Fazio for fifty-eight years and was a son of the late Francisco and Carmella M. Fazio.
Mr. Fazio was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for sixty years and member of the third order St. Francis and Knights of Columbus. He also served in the US Navy during WWII with the Seabee "Bobcats" Unit, 22nd Marines. He served in the Marshall Islands from 1942-1944, two years in the South Pacific, and fifteen months in the Aleutian Islands, and Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
He owned and operated Fazio Auto Collision Service for forty-two years.
He is survived by ten children, Frances M. Fazio, Camella F. and husband Dale Harvey, Gina F. and husband Larry Gillespie, Frank Fazio, Jacque F. and husband Allen Redding, Theresa F. and husband Stewart Wynn, Mike Fazio and wife Tammy, Joe Fazio and wife Faye, Rita Fazio and Jack Sasser, and Mark Fazio; sister; Mary Francis Hayes of Dillion, SC; twenty-eight grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was predeceased by a brother, James A Fazio; sister, Josphine Amburgey.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The Rite of Committal will be held at Graceland Cemetery, West. Robert L. Hunt, Timothy Harvey, Byron Wynn, Chad Harvey, Allen Redding, Frank Redding and Tiger Gillespie will serve as active pallbearers.
