Michael Perry Burden, 50, of 16 St. Andrews Way, husband of Frankie Sandifer Burden, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center. Born in Greenville, he was the son of Margaret Marett Burden and the late Lamar T. Burden. Mr. Burden attended North Greenville College and was a graduate of Coastal Carolina University. He was employed with Christ Church Episcopal School as a coach and teacher and was a member of Five Forks Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife of 30 years, are a daughter and son-in-law, Paige and Michael VanHorn of Fountain Inn; a son and daughter-in-law, Vince and Katie Burden of Simpsonville; three grandchildren, Carson and Owen VanHorn and Ava Burden; and two brothers, Thomas L. and Denny Burden both of Greenville. Memorials may be made to Christ Church Episcopal School, Athletic Booster Club, 567 Wenwood Road, Greenville, SC 29607. Visitation will be held Friday, December 21, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in The Chapel of The Good Shepherd at Christ Church Episcopal School. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence.
