Mildred Smith Lanier, 83, of 205 Lakeside Circle, died Saturday, January 27, 2007, at her home. Born in Abbeville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Stephen and Mary Maude Grindle Smith. She was the wife of the late Hubert Alton Lanier, Sr. Mrs. Lanier was a member of Rocky Creek Baptist Church and participated in the senior adult ministry, the Lord?s Supper ministry and the Benevolence ministry. Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Mitchell and Elaine Langley, and her husband Jerry; a son, Alton Lanier, and his wife Barbara; a brother, Ray Smith; a sister, Marie Bolles; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Rocky Creek Baptist Church Mission Trip Fund or Building Fund, 1801 Woodruff Road, Greenville, SC 29607, or Piedmont Women?s Center, 44 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation will be held at Rocky Creek Baptist Church Monday, January 29, 2007 from 10 am until 11:45 am with a funeral service to follow at 12 noon. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
