Millicent L. Burdine

Millicent L. Burdine, 93, of 312-A South Main Street, Simpsonville, formerly of 40 Burdine Road, Greenville died Thursday, July 17, 2008. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Albert M. and Maggie Campbell Lesley and wife of the late Richard G. Burdine. Mrs. Burdine was a member of Berea First Baptist Church, the June Goodwin Circle Group, the Senior Adult Choir and the Friendship Group. She also taught Sunday school for many years for the primary age group. Surviving are four daughters, Billie Hogg Douglas of Simpsonville, Sallie Taylor Paul, Carroll Anderson, and Pat Waldrop Jimmy all of Greenville; a sister, Myra McKinney Landreth, of Easley; a daughter-in-law, Grace Burdine, of Greenville; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard G. Burdine, Jr. and James "Jim" Burdine; a daughter, Mary Burdine; two brothers, Ansel and Bobby Lesley and a sister, Frances Brown. The funeral service will be Saturday, July 19, 2008 at 1:30 pm at Berea First Baptist Church with visitation in the Senior Adult Building from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm prior to the service in the sanctuary. Burial will be at Berea First Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Berea First Baptist Church, 529 Farrs Bridge Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
