Monetta Hammond Busby, 89 years, beloved wife of 67 years to the late Joe Morris Busby, of Anderson, SC, peacefully left her earthly home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 12, 2024.
Born on October 5, 1934, in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Margie Nell Hammond.
Monetta grew up in the Greenville area and graduated from Parker High School.
Monetta’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, as she dedicated 85 years of faithful service as a member of Park Place Church of God.
Monetta contributed her talents and warmth to Boynton’s Day Care until her well-deserved retirement. Her dedication to nurturing young hearts left a lasting impact on many lives.
Monetta found joy in simple pleasures. She delighted in solving puzzles and the excitement of a shopping excursion. However, her greatest source of happiness was undoubtedly the time spent with her family. Her love knew no bounds, and her presence brought warmth and light to those around her.
Monetta’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion will forever be remembered by her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Debra Busby Trammell (Phillip); son, Darryl Joe Busby (Dana); grandchildren, Joshua Trammell (Bridget), Jenna Wilson, Tyler Busby (Samantha), Amber Gaillard (Trey), and Zach Smith; 9 great grandchildren, Haven Trammell, Hallie Trammell, Brixton Wilson, Montana Wilson, Davis Busby, Kenlee Joe Busby, Hezekiah Gaillard, Ellie Gaillard, and Silas Smith.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 16, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at Take Heart Church, 1330 Fork Shoals Rd Greenville, SC 29605, with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be held in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
