Myrtle N. Youse

Myrtle Elizabeth Noblett Youse, daughter of Fred A. and Ora Mae Noblett was born in Greenville, SC. She was very happy to have gone through the Parker District. She took classes at Converse College and graduated from Furman University. She received her Masters in Music Education from ColumbiaTeacher?s College in New York. Myrtle taught in the Greenville School System, teaching music at Greenville Junior High School until 1955 when she accepted a position as the Choral Director at Savannah High School, Savannah, GA. There she directed a mixed chorus of 110 voices, which would perform for school and community functions, and also an ensemble made up of 19 people which appeared in TV. Myrtle also taught school in the Steelton, PA. School System and the Central Dauphin School System. She married The Reverend Paul Youse, a Lutheran minister, and moved to East Bangor, PA. She had a gift for decorating and turned every parsonage into an attractive and comfortable home. She was active in churches her husband served, teaching Sunday School, Catechetical Classes, directing choirs and in church and other choral activities. She had gifts and the personality which made her uniquely suited to be a pastor?s wife. Surviving are her husband, The Reverend Paul M. Youse of the home; a sister, Dorothy N. McLawhorn; three sisters-in-law, Madelyn McGinity, Anna Sargent and Mary Youse; and two brothers-in-law, Samuel and Carol H. Youse. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 421 N. Main Street, Greenville, SC 29601. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 04, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Graceland East Memorial Park.
