Nellie Bruce Reese

Nellie Bruce Reese, 96, widow of Elmore Troy Reese, died Thursday, February 02, 2006 at Oakmont East Nursing Center. Born in Williamston, she was the daughter of the late John and Alta Bruce. Mrs. Reese was retired from Poe Mill and was a member of Lee Road Baptist Church where she was involved in the Joy Club. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and John Petrich of Greenville, Wavelene and Carl Crenshaw of Meridan, MS.; six grandchildren, Chad Matheny, who was the apple of her eye, Michael Robinson, Mark Reese, Jan Davis, Tim Reese, Pam Allen; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, Yvonne Nuckols, Ann Wilson, Mickey Vernon, and Matt Heck; a daughter-in-law, Polly Reese of Greenville; and a special best friend, Dell Panagakos of Greenville. She was preceded in death by a son, Troy E. ?Fuzz? Reese and a grandson, Craig Matheny. Memorials may be made to Oakmont East Activities Department, 600 Sulphur Springs Road, Greenville, SC 29617. Visitation will be held Friday, February 03, 2006 from 6:30 until 7:30 PM at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 04, 2006 at 10:30 AM at Lee Road Baptist Church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, West. The family would like to express special thanks to the staff of Oakmont East, especially the CNA?s, for the loving care given to Nellie. The family will be at the home of a daughter, Ann Petrich, 101 W. Earle Street, Greenville.
